The Aga Khan University Hospital in addition to its five Hospitals creates access through its Outreach Services which include Clinical Laboratories, Outpatient Medical Centers, Pharmacy services, Home Health, and other services. Outreach Services are designed to provide primary to secondary healthcare services to patients near their homes and are present in several cities across Pakistan. Responsibilities You will be responsible to: ensure Pharmacies of Outreach Services operate safe, cost effective, rational medication management by applying JCIA MMU and ISO standardsplan, co-ordinate, implement and ensure availability Hospital Pharmacy Management Information System whereby data related to staff and services productivity is gathered, monitored, trended and reported on a regular basis to enhance operational improvements and efficiencieswork towards automation of various aspects of medication management as a change agentbuild capacity and train pharmacy staff; search avenues for professional and intellectual growth to enhance and improve their practice and knowledgeassist in implementing optimal drug therapy plan, guidelines and protocols; identify, resolve and prevent potential and actual drug related problems by obtaining and evaluating medical literature, patient profiles, laboratory data and review drug use trends, adverse drug reaction reports, guidelines adherence etcensure capacity building and manpower training which includes to prepare and impart training as an educator in departmental training programs for pharmacists, interns and technicians also ensure periodic key knowledge assessment for all staff;assure proper inventory and handling of drugs and other pharmacy related supplies;enhance patient safety and cost effectiveness with rational medication usage;assure the proper documentation of controlled drugs and the periodic monitoring of these recordsliaison with physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers and convey information on safe and effective medication usage, also conduct focus groups, quality grand rounds, or share information through sessions or flyers.Requirements You Should have: a Doctorate/Bachelors of Pharmacy with Master’s Degree in Hospital Pharmacy preferred minimum 4-6 years of hospital & community pharmacy (Retail/Chain) experience, with 2 years at supervisory level mainly focused on hospital setup or retail chainability to interpret and understand prescriptions, formularies and their pharmacological actions;demonstrated supervisory skills and ability to work with people of various backgrounds; may be assigned to work in any area of the hospital pharmacy as and when requiredworking knowledge of hospital pharmacy services and knowledge of various drug distribution systems;sound knowledge of computer systems especially inventory management.
